I liked the flower in this photo, but not the original background. The rose is basically untouched here, but the background is heavily reworked.
First, I pulled the photo from Lightroom into Photoshop and selected the background, then started experimenting. I ended up using a green color fill layer that still revealed a lot of the original background. In Nik Color Efex Pro 4, I added vignetting and blur to hide white flowers and other distractions. I did a little more disguising with the clone stamp tool in Photoshop. Then I imported a photo of bark from another shot and used it as texture, including on part of the rose. The blend mode is soft light.
I like the way it has a little bit of a stained glass look.
