      • Spent a year there while my husband was on fellowship at the library. One of the best things about it was having access to some of the most stunning echinopsis hybrids I’ve ever seen; unfortunately they’re part of a collection not open to the public. And it was 2003 and I’d not yet begun taking pictures.

I always love seeing your images which take me back to my time there.

    • Thanks so much, Rona. I love your work. It’s too bad you weren’t shooting back then, you’d have amazing photos. That was the first time I’d been at the Huntington when the conservatory was open. I wasn’t allowed to use a tripod and I didn’t have a macro lens with me, wish I had been more prepared.

  1. Ah, Lithops – pebble plants – bring back memories of living in Cape Town where we had some of these little beauties growing in our garden. Not as many as there are here though!
